TIME IS ART
Overlooking the quiet shores of San Pablo Bay, our little home offers a refuge of peace and harmony. Here, surrounded by whispering palm trees, I paint, photograph, design and play with color and form as a beginner again.
Transmuting the silence of healing into art.—each stroke, a celebration of rest, space, simplicity, and wonder. I paint, draw, design and handcraft everything you see, inspired by my own practice of presence, bodywork and wonder. Slowly, slowly with a beginner's mind, I am learning to stop. Look. and Listen.
I am finally stumbling and bumbling into value of un-learning. Noticing and unlearning/unattaching to all the obstacles I have used to distract myself from simply being. Simply being with the ordinary natural beauty all around -obvious in every thing that is perceived. In silence; noticing and breathing I come alive. Getting outside in nature inspires art making.
At an early age in Boston 1958, I was given the idea I was an artist. My artwork brought me lots of positive attention and some fame. The story was that I have special talent for creating great art and that my painting went to the Brussels World's Fair. This allowed for a simple pleasure in observing nature and a joy when painting and making artwork ever since.
I create mostly from a beginner’s mind.
I’m slowly learning to Stop, Look and Notice what’s in front of me more often.
PAUSING to observe clouds, trees, cats. Simply pausing, stopping for beauty. Allowing it to affect me. Breathing deeply. Slowly.
Aging has a wealth of benefits. - Slowing down to the pace of life!
- slowing down to notice and breathe.
Learning to stop, look and listen more often.
Today at amost 80, I am happily making art living in the San Francisco / East Bay/ San Pablo, California area.
I work with acrylics, graphite pencil, digital photography, mixed media, collage; - often using recycled and found materials to evoke beauty, calm and space.
Each piece has the ability to uplift and invite spaciousness, serenity and quiet.
We are all art makers. Our life each moment is our art.
Simplicity, ease, flow and harmony happen while creating and viewing this art.

Swans invite a sense of peace, awe, stillness. Gazing evokes a natural sense of quiet and peace..
